On 13 May 2014, ISPE Young Professionals in the Nordic Affiliate (headed by Honglu Yang from NNE Pharmaplan) held an ISPE Young Professional workshop at Novo Nordisk Headquarters in Bagsværd. Around 110 professionals from large pharmaceutical companies, including Novo Nordisk, Novozymes, H.Lundbeck, Biogen Idec, Xellia Pharmaceuticals, Zealand Pharma, Takeda Pharma, as well as other medical device companies, life science institutes and consulting companies, participated in this inaugural event.

Three industry leaders presented during the event: Poul Henning Poulsen, CVP in quality development from Novo Nordisk, Gert Mølgaard, VP in strategic development from NNE Pharmaplan and Charlotte Enghave Fruergaard, Partner from NNE Pharmaplan.

Poul shared an inspiring story about his career development with Novo Nordisk and revealed future hiring trends within pharmaceutical industry. Gert Mølgaard illustrated a visionary picture of pharmaceutical trends and showed us the direction of facilities of the future. Charlotte shared her achievement as an ISPE Chair and her stories about how involvement in ISPE helped her in her personal career development.


YP Nordic

During the second part of the workshop, Honglu Yang introduced the ISPE YP committee to the audience and shared his own experience to explain the benefits of joining ISPE. “Involvement in ISPE Young Professionals gives me a large network and chances to practice my leadership skills by volunteering.  It also gives me a community of knowledge sharing,” said Honglu, Chair of the ISPE Nordic Affiliate Young Professional Committee.

The event concluded with a two hour networking session, where professionals had the chance to converse with industry leaders, ISPE Nordic Chair Anders Brummerstedt, CPIP, ISPE Nordic Board Vice Chair Morten Stenkilde and ISPE Nordic Membership Chair Henrik Goldschmidt. The event received plenty of positive feedback and participants showed a huge interest in joining ISPE and look forward to our next event.
