pharma-genericThis year will see the first co-location of Pharma EXPO with PACK EXPO Las Vegas (September 28-30; Las Vegas Convention Center). Pharma EXPO, co-produced by PMMI, The Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies, and ISPE, The International Society for Pharmaceutical Engineering, will offer the latest technologies and information on new trends for every stage of the pharmaceutical lifecycle. Following a successful debut in Chicago alongside PACK EXPO International in 2014, we’re expecting an exciting event this September.

Together, PACK EXPO Las Vegas and Pharma EXPO will feature the largest-ever show floor at PACK EXPO Las Vegas, with more than 2,000 exhibitors, 30,000 attendees and over 800,000 net square feet of exhibit space. Pharma EXPO itself will feature more than 160 solutions providers addressing the entire pharmaceutical lifecycle.

It’s fitting that Pharma EXPO’s southwest debut lands on a landmark year for PMMI as we celebrate the 20th anniversary of PACK EXPO Las Vegas. The show has come a long way since 1995. The first-ever PACK EXPO Las Vegas (then called PACK EXPO West) featured 532 exhibitors and drew 9,334 attendees. Over two decades, the show has evolved significantly, reflecting – and paving the way for the advancement of manufacturing technologies and practices across industries. But as we look back at how far we’ve come, we’re reminded of one thing: we arrived here by always looking ahead. In the coming weeks, we’ll do just that.

Approaching Pharma EXPO, ISPE will feature a series of three blog posts exploring some of the pharmaceutical industry’s major trends and challenges that will be addressed at the show:

o   Serialization and Track & Trace: From Theory to Practical Application Success Including Global Trends

o   Manufacturing Excellence: Empower Employees to Unleash Their Potential in High Performance Work Teams

o   Quality Risk Management: Evaluating Compliance for Multiproduct Manufacturing and Inventory Facilities

In the meantime, pharmaceutical, biopharmaceutical, nutraceutical and medical device manufacturers can visit Pharmaexpo.com to learn about the full range of solutions and insights offered at the show, including educational opportunities to help industry professionals stay ahead of game-changing market trends and regulations. The show will also feature ISPE’s world-class conference program, with tracks concentrating on manufacturing operations (Monday, Sept. 28), compliance trends (Tuesday, Sept. 29) and pharmaceutical packaging (Wednesday, Sept. 30). The Innovation Stage at Pharma EXPO (Booth #N-559) will highlight innovations and ideas for pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturing in convenient, free half-hour educational sessions. Additionally, the Rx Lounge will provide a destination for attendees to relax and network with industry peers and exhibitors.

Pharma EXPO attendees can also draw inspiration from solutions and practices utilized in other industries represented at PACK EXPO. Several guideposts, such as The Processing Zone and The Brand Zone will help attendees efficiently navigate the show floor. PACK EXPO’s Center for Trends and Technologies: Improving Production Through Innovation (CTT) (Booth C-4829), sponsored by Rockwell Automation and its PartnerNetwork™ Program, will offer educational sessions and displays surrounding technologies to enhance productivity, sustainability and agility.

Last but not least, Pharma EXPO attendees should be sure to attend PACK gives BACK where the legendary rock band Chicago will be performing on Monday, Sept. 28, the first night of the show. PACK gives BACK is a charity event benefitting the Fisher House Foundation, an organization best known for providing a network of comfort homes where active-duty military and veterans’ families can stay at no cost while a loved one is receiving treatment.
